Аннотация
Книга Люси Сериес, во многом основанная на представлениях И. Гофмана о тотальных институтах и М. Фуко о дисциплинарных механизмах, посвящена проблеме депривации свободы пожилых людей и людей с ограниченными возможностями здоровья, нуждающихся в социальном уходе, в карцеральную и посткарцеральную эпоху. В отличие от других рецензентов, автор настоящей статьи полагает, что Л. Сериес внесла существенный вклад не столько в развитие теории социальной инклюзии, основанной на исторических и современных кейсах из Великобритании, сколько в развитие теоретико-методологических представлений о доме и тех институтах, которые, в отличие от домашней среды, формируют пространство ограничения свободы выбора. Фактически книга позволяет ответить на вопрос, что такое дом как социально-культурная единица и почему он может быть противопоставлен социальным институтам за счет достаточно жесткой демаркации соответствующих пространств.
